Objective To detect the expression of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFβ1) , tissue inhibitors of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP1) in liver cirrhosis tissues.Methods All 57 liver cirrhosis specimens were detected by immunohistochemistry (S-P) .Results Proteins of TGFβ1 and TIMP1 were detected in all liver tissues from 57 liver cirrhosis patients, all in cytoplasm but not nucleus.Conclusion TGFβ1 and TIMP1 may play an important role in the development of liver cirrhosis, especially they were tightly correlated with clinical pathologic factors.
