Abstract

Abstract

Objective To analyze the relationships between alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and hepatic histopathology in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with ALT2×ULN/L.Methods 303 patients with the diagnosis of CHB, the liver functions were tested and the pathological changes were shown by liver biopsy.Results The inflammatory grade was at 2 stage or higher in 64.68% of patients and the hepatic fibrosis degree were at 2 stage and higher in 56.44% of patients.The relationship between ALT and inflammatory grade/fibrotic stage was positive correlation.Conclusion There were differences of inflammatory grade/fibrotic stage between patients with normal ALT and patients with abnormal ALT.The inflammatory and fibrosis in liver progressed along with the increasing of ALT.
