The therapeutic efficacy of Mannatide Tablets in the treatment of Lamivudine-resistant chronic hepatitis B

Objective To evaluate the effect of Mannatide Tablets in combination with Adefovir Dipivoxil for the treatment Lamivudine-resistant chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients.Methods A total of 45 CHB patients were randomly divided into 2 groups, 24 in the treatment group, and 21 in the control group.Adefovir Dipivoxil and Adefovir Dipivoxil combined with Mannatide tablets for 12 months were given for the control and the treatment groups, respectively.At the 3rd, 6th and 12th months of treatment the clinical symptoms were assessed and the levels of ALT, HBeAg and HBV DNA were measured.Results At the 3rd, 6th and 12th months of treatment, the ALT normalization rates in the treatment group (67.8%, 84.3% and 90.5%) were higher than the control group (51.2%, 63.2%, 79.6%, P<0.01) .At the 6th and l2th months, HbeAg seroconversion and HBV DNA negativity were higher in the treatment group compared to the control group (P<0.01) .Conclusion Mannatide Tablets combined with Adefovir Dipivoxil is more effective than Adefovir Dipivoxil alone in the treatment of CHB patients.
