Abstract

Abstract

Objective To investigate treatment of the overlap syndrome of autoimmune liver disease and to improve the efficacy and safety of the treatment.Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 32 cases with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) overlap syndrome The patients were given prednisone (0.5 mg·kg-1·d-1) combined with UDCA (ursodeoxycholic acid) (15mg·kg-1·d-1) .Results The total situation of all patients improved significantly compared with pretreatment (P<0.01 or P<0.05) .The IgG, IgM, SMA, AMA level show no difference after treatment (P>0.05) .Conclusion prednisone combined UDCA treatment can significantly reduce AIH-PBC symptoms and signs of patients and improve liver biochemistry and liver histological index.The treatment is safe and effective.
