We investigate the hepatic function comprehensive index to evaluate the prognosis of heavy hepatitis. As total bilirubin × extension of original time of clotting blood ÷ serum albumin calculated the hepatic function comprehensive index of serum total bilirubin peak in 160 cases of heavy hepatitis, the hepatic function comprehensive index of the acute heavy hepatitis, subacute heavy hepatitis, chronic heavy hepatitis, the combinating group of the three kinds in group turn to recovery and the group worsen to dead were 118.67±73.51, 166.07±132.10, 187.71±176.76, 163.76±148.73, and 384.67±363.24, 341.59±206.86, 334.39±242.96, 345.44±254.42. compared with group turn to recovery and the group worsen to dead:P<0.01, <0.02, <0.01, <0.001, When the hepatic function index was over 150, the difference of the group was largest. The hepatic function index has some practical valum to heavy hepatitis judging.
