To study the curative effect of Chinese herbal preparation, injectio matrini and "Ganyanling" injection on the anti-virus treatment of chronic hepatitis B. 106 cases with chronic hepatitis B were divided into treatment group and control group (58 cases for treated group and 48 cases for control group) . Drip infusion technique by adding 150 mg injectio matrini into 10% dextrose solution was adopted in treatment group. Intramuscular injection with 70 mg "Ganyanling"was given daily at the same time with a course of 12 weeks. Liver function, HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV-DNA were tested both before and after the treatment. In treatment group, the negative transforming rate of HBeAg and HBV-DNA were 39 7% (23/58) and 41 4% (24/58) respectively, which were much higher than the both 14 6% (7/48) ( P <0 01) in control group. The ALT and AST recovery rates in treatment group were much higher than those in control group ( P <0 05) . Injectio matrini used together with "Ganyanling" injection may effectively control the reproduction of hepatitis B viruses (HBV) and may be a safe and effective method to treat chronic hepatitis B.
