To explore the change and significance of Th1/Th2 cytokines expression in treatment of chronic hepatitis C with IFN-α and ribavirin.The IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-4, and IL-10 mRNA were assayed from PBMCs of 40 normal control and 48 patients of CHC by semi-quantitative RT-PCR method.The results showed that the expression levels of IFN-γ and TNF-α of CHC patients were obviously lower than control group.After treatment, IFN-γ and TNF-α levels of CHC complete responders increased significantly.These suggested that cellular immunity inhibition might be one reason of HCV persistent infection.And cellular immunologic function of CHC patients was activated efficiently showed close relationship to successful therapeutic effect.
