To study the expression and significance of cell adhesion molecules in gallbladder carcinoma 44 cases of gallbladder carcinoma were examined by immunohistochemistry to detect the expression of CEA and CD44v6 proteins.The positive rates of CEA and CD44v6 proteins were 75% and 48% in gallbladder carcinoma respectively.There is close relationship between CEA, CD44v6 and lymphatic metastasis and clinical stage.There is close relationship between those two proteins.suggested that CEA and CD44v6 expression may play a role in promotion and lymphatic metastasis of gallbladder carcinoma.
