Abstract:
To analyze the effect of partial splenic arterial embolism on hypersplenia and esophageal varices. Partial splenic arterial embolism were performed in 20 cases with cirrhosis of liver combined hypersplenia from 1998 to 2001, of them, male 12 cases, female 8cases. The result showed that platelet, leucocyte, albumin and total protein were higher than pretherapy. the degree of spleen tumefaction, The bores of portal vein, splenic vein and esophageal varies were improved. The effects of partial splenic arterial embolism on hepatic function with pre-therapy were also observed transaminase bilirubin have no change after the first week, the first month and six month ( P >0 05) . Therefore, the partial splenic arteial embolism are effective for treatment of hypersplenia and esophageal varices.
