Journal of Clinical Hepatology (JCH, ISSN 1001-5256, CN 22-1108/R), founded in 1985, is a national medical journal managed by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, published by Jilin University, and supported by Chinese Society of Hepatology, Chinese Medical Association, and it is the first journal specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases in China.

        Professor Zhuang Hui, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, serves as honorary editor-in-chief. Professor Jia Jidong, Honorary Chairman of Chinese Society of Hepatology, Chinese Medical Association and former President of Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver and International Association for the Study of the Liver, and Professor Niu Junqi, former Associate Dean of The First Hospital of Jilin University, leader of Liver Cancer Study Group, Chinese Society of Hepatology, Chinese Medical Association, Honorary Chairman of Jilin Provincial Society of Infectious Diseases, and Chairman of Jilin Provincial Society of Liver Diseases, serve as editors-in-chief. The 17th Editorial Board is composed of 354 domestic and foreign experts and academic leaders with extensive clinical experience and high academic attainments, of whom 16 are academicians and 21 are from overseas as well as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Also employed are more than 1000 reviewers with great academic achievements in all related fields, and all incoming manuscripts are peer-reviewed. 

        Goal of journal: JCH aims to promote the prevention and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases and the clinical application of the findings of basic research and is committed to serving a vast number of clinicians and researchers. With the emphasis on both theory and practice and the combination of popularization and improvement, it provides an overview of the significant progress in the prevention and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases in China and the rest of the world, so as to boost the worldwide academic exchanges in the fields of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.

        Article contents: JCH publishes articles in the fields of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases from China and abroad, covering advanced research findings, clinical experiences in diagnosis and treatment, the findings of basic research that are closely related to clinical practice and can serve as a guide for it, new therapies, and new techniques. It places emphasis on both clinical medicine and basic medicine, both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, both internal medicine and surgery, and both hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases.

The core impact factor of 1.379 is 54.8% higher than the average core impact factor (0.891) of 18 core journals of gastroenterology. The core total citation frequency of JCH is 4338, which is 256.2% higher than the average total citation frequency (1218) of the 18 core journals of gastroenterology. JCH has an overall evaluation score of 69.7, ranking first among the core journals of gastroenterology in China for five consecutive years.

           Publishing and distribution: Published on the 25th day of each month in China and globally, with 12 issues in a year and a 16K size, at a price of 60 yuan for each issue in 2024. 

           Journal subscription: (1) Subscribe through post offices all over China with a Postal Distribution Code of 12-80; (2) contact the Editorial Office by telephone or via e-mail. Medical staff, researchers, and university libraries are welcomed to subscribe.
